Understanding Anti-Wrinkle Treatments
A straightforward guide to how wrinkle-reducing treatments work, what to expect, and how to know if they're right for you.
How Do Anti-Wrinkle Treatments Work?
Anti-wrinkle treatments work by temporarily relaxing specific facial muscles that cause expression lines. When these muscles are relaxed, the overlying skin smooths out — reducing the appearance of lines across the forehead, between the brows, and around the eyes.
What Areas Can Be Treated?
The most common treatment areas include:
- Forehead lines (horizontal creases)
- Frown lines (the "11s" between the brows)
- Crow's feet (lines around the eyes when smiling)
- Brow lifting
- Bunny lines (across the nose)
What Does the Treatment Feel Like?
Most clients describe the sensation as a small pinch. The needles used are extremely fine, and the procedure is quick — typically completed within 15 to 30 minutes. No anaesthetic is usually required.
When Will I See Results?
Results typically begin to appear within 3 to 5 days, with the full effect visible at around 14 days. A follow-up review at 2 weeks is recommended to assess your response and make any adjustments if needed.
How Long Do Results Last?
Results generally last between 3 and 4 months, though this varies from person to person. Regular treatments may help extend the duration over time as the muscles gradually weaken with consistent treatment.
This information is general in nature. Anti-wrinkle treatments are prescription medicines and require a consultation. Individual results may vary. Treatment is performed in accordance with AHPRA guidelines.
A note on our approach to transparency
Under Australian TGA guidelines, detailed information about certain prescription-based treatments - including specific product names and pricing - cannot be shared publicly. We respect this regulation because it exists to protect you.
Rather than publishing general pricing online, we prefer to discuss costs during your consultation, where Heidi can provide a personalised quote based on the specific treatment plan she recommends for your individual goals and anatomy.
We believe this consultative approach leads to better outcomes - because the right treatment starts with a real conversation, not a menu.
Individual results may vary. A consultation is required before any treatment. All treatments carry potential risks and side effects - these will be discussed during your consultation.
